GENEIUS LABORATORIES ARE ACQUIRED BY SYNLAB

On the 1st July 2017 Geneius were acquired by SYNLAB who are a Munich based provider of routine and specialist medical laboratory services and are the recognised European leader in human laboratory diagnostic services.

SYNLAB focus on the implementation of innovative laboratory medicine methods and on networking specialist diagnostic competences.  SYNLAB operates in more than 30 countries across four continents and hold leading positions in most markets. Over 17,000 employees contribute every day to the Group’s success across different geographies. SYNLAB carries out about 450 million laboratory tests per year, achieving sales revenue of circa €1.6 billion.

SYNLAB was attracted to the Geneius business due to its dedication to innovation and its unique position in consultancy and analytical laboratory services that provides security and reassurance to the food and drink industry. These are markets in which SYNLAB has extensive expertise in its wider European business as well as its existing UK food testing business through the acquisition of Genon.

SYNLAB will support the growth and development of the Geneius business model to deliver a continued high level of service with the additional advantage of being able to offer much wider portfolio of tests and services.
